SAMHSA awards FEi Systems the CIOSP3 BHITS Task OrderNitesh Chawathe
FEi Systems has been awarded a CIOSP3 – SB Task Order to support SAMSHA in the implementation of the Behavioral Health Information Technologies and Standards (BHITS) initiative. The BHITS program represents a cross-center collaboration between multiple SAMHA centers, including the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP), and the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ). Major components of BHITS include supporting small substance abuse treatment organizations with their EHR implementations, disseminating/implementing HIT tools and standards, and expanding the use of a variety of tools that were piloted in a previous FEi contract at SAMHSA, OBHITA (Open Behavioral Health Information Technology Architecture). This includes the C2S (Consent to Share) product that was developed by FEI as a pilot of the ONC DS4P (Data Segmentation for Privacy) project. To learn more about C2S, click here.
The BHITS contract includes a base year and two option years. FEi’s delivery team includes subcontractors Abt Associates, Eversolve LLC, the Lantana Consulting Group and the National Council for Behavioral Health.
