FEi Achieves 100% Award Fee for two SAMHSA ContractsNitesh Chawathe
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the Federal Government agency that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the Nation. For SAMHSA, FEi Systems (FEi) manages two high-profile contracts: The Web Block Grant Application System (WebBGAS) and the Behavioral Health Information Technologies and Standards (BHITS) project.
FEi developed WebBGAS, an online data collection and reporting web application that States and jurisdictions use to submit their Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Block Grant applications. The SAPT Block Grant is SAMHSA’s largest funding source for providing substance abuse treatment and prevention services.
For BHITS, FEi manages a complex contract that supports real world implementation, dissemination, and promotion of health IT tools in the behavioral health community. This work ranges from health IT development, pilot testing, and technical assistance to developing behavioral health-related clinical quality measures and standards for collecting and exchanging behavioral health data.
For both WebBGAS and BHITS, FEi recently received 100 percent Award Fees, an incentive provided by SAMHSA for providing excellence in the areas of cost, schedule, and technical performance. As noted by Rodney Conrad, General Manager of the Behavioral Health Unit at FEi, receiving two 100 percent Award Fees “demonstrates FEi’s steady focus on delivering high-quality solutions to the Federal Government that meet or exceed expectations.”
